Skeet shooting in UK?

Any UK Shooters? Inspired by an earlier question about shooting - I was reminded of a long standing ambition of mine mine, to take up Clay Pigeon (Skeet) shooting.

Does anyone know of a good place to begin Clay Pigeon Shooting - to the West of London preferably - and not exclusive/expensive - I know the West London Shooting Club and Holland & Holland...but both are prohibitively expensive...

hey matt.. i don't know of anything off the top of my head but I'm interested to find out as my dad is giving me a shotgun. I keep saying to my mates we will sort out a shooting day but we never get round to it.

This is not too far away. Northolt, up the A40.

Response by poster: Thats the one I mentioned in the original post....looks quite expensive still (check the rates page...) but, if it is all I can find, then I may go there...mail me if you want.

Start by shooting trap, if you can. It's a bit easier than skeet and it gets you used to the pigeons (clay) and their eccentricities.
