A good mechanic in Gurnee?

Anyone know a good mechanic in or around Gurnee Illinois for a used car pre-sale checkup?

We're considering buying a used Honda in Gurnee, IL. We want to get it checked out, but we're from much farther south. I've checked Yelp, etc., but I was hoping for a more personal recommendation here from folks who know of good mechanics or auto shops in Gurnee, Libertyville or Waukegan. If you've done a similar thing (getting a car checked out prior to buying it), that would be great.

I can recommend two different mechanics in the area. I've never used either of them to check out a used car, but I trust them with my prized 1994 Mazda Miata which if you knew me says it all.

The first one is Gurnee Transmission on Belle Plaine just south of Grand Avenue. (They don't have a website, but their phone # is 847-249-5678.)

The other is Great American Tire Company on Route 120 east of Route 45. This is in Grayslake, which is right next door to Gurnee. (They also lack a website, but their phone # is 847-548-8473.)
