Please make this Libirum stop spoiling my water

My doctor recently prescribed some Librium for awful stomach cramps. It seems that it is making all my food and drink now taste just terrible, like it's all got nutrasweet in it. I know the simple answer here is "just stop taking it", but that's really not an option. The Google is useless on this, and I really miss drinking water that tastes like water, and not water with some awful chemical in it. I guess, long question short: Is this the medication causing this or do I have a brain tumor?

Benzo's display a similiar sweetening effect in rats. It may not affect humans as often at commonly prescribed doses. Maybe a lower dose or different benzo, talk to your doctor.

It's a known, but rare side effect of Libirum: "altered sense of taste". You're indicated to "Speak to your doctor if you experience any of these effects; your treatment may need to be discontinued."

Do a Google search for Librium side effects taste and you should find the same info.

I have stomach cramps under control with a special diet most of the time, but when I am bad and eat something naughty I take clindinium, which also has Chlordiazepoxide....maybe it's a generic, but it works great and I've never had any weird tastes.

Huh, actually it seems Clidinium bromide is in Librax with Chlordiazepoxide, maybe ask your doctor for just the Clidinium? Or just the Chlordiazepoxide? Might be that just one works well for you.
