Updating AVG Antivirus

Is anyone else having trouble getting their AVGFree antivirus to connect for its update? [mi]

I turn on my computer in the morning, and the first thing it does is update, and up until three days ago, this was very automatic with no problems. It connected on it's own, downloaded the update, righted itself, and then hummed along normally.

But the last three days, it hangs on connecting to Grisoft or connects then hangs on the download. For the first two days, I was able to force it to download by asking it to check for updates. Today though it just refused, and I ended up going to the site.

There were two files at the site to download, so I did the right-click save as, and got a dialogue box telling me that the file was moved or missing. I clicked ok, and then the box to let me save the file popped up behind it. Confused at this point, I saved it and updated my client manually.

Surfing around the site doesn't spill out any support questions about this, and before I write to beg help on something I'm not even paying for, I was wondering if anyone knows what's happening, and if perhaps how I could figure out if the problem is on my end.

Mine seems to be fine. I just got the latest update 2 minutes ago, which was created on 9th December. No problems at my end.

have you upgraded? the old version was discontinued, or was going to be dicontinued, or something. i installed version 7 and, while it's even uglier than before (which must have required some effort), it works just fine.
