How come I can't view the baseball video clips on MLB.com linked in this MeFi thread?

I don't have a problem viewing other flash sites. Running Vista / Firefox / NoScript / allowed cookies. Downloaded latest Flash player. I get a quick line saying "loading related content", and it stays blank.

Did you allow an exception for the page in noscript?

Do you have an adblocker installed?

Response by poster: Yes. Scripts allowed.
I have Adblock Plus, but it shows 0 items out of 109 blocked.

Response by poster: This isn't one of those "Only viewable in USA" things, is it?

I always have trouble with these clips too. The only solution I've found so far is to disable Adblock altogether.

It didn't work for me in Safari on a Mac, and I'm in the US.

No luck here, either - in the US - on Safari or FF, with AdBlock disabled (though not uninstalled). I saw a herky-jerky version over RDC to my work box (Windows) on IE. Guess I'll wait for the sports news later.

Yep. Disabling AdBlock worked.

I've always had the same problem on my Mac. It used to work in Safari but not FF, now it works in neither.

Anything weird or bad in the Error Console (Ctrl-Shift-J)?

Response by poster: (Ctrl-Shift-J) gives me downloads. Empty.

Are you using a modified hosts file?

Specifically, do you see a 404 page at http://mlbcom.112.2o7.net/ and a placeholder page at http://ad.doubleclick.net/? Both of those need to work before you could see video, otherwise you'd get stuck at "loading related content".

Actually, it looks like Omniture (2o7) isn't necessary, only doubleclick. Do you see a cross-domain-policy when you click on http://ad.doubleclick.net/crossdomain.xml? I double-checked, and not being able to retrieve that file definitely results in a "loading related content" message followed by a blank screen.

Response by poster: I do see the cross-domain policy. You may have it, aiko. I haven't modified my hosts file on this computer. I deleted doubleclick entries from my adblocker. Still won't load. Where is it blocked?

w-gp, have you actually disabled Adblock entirely? Not just for the site that's trying to load the mlb clips, but gone to tools/add-ons/manage and clicked the "disable" button? That's what made it work for me.

Response by poster: Disabled Ad Block. Restarted FireFox. Enabled cookies and third party cookies. Set NoScript to "temporarily allow all of this page". Still nothing.
