what vegetable is pictured on the alice waters google marker pin?
see photo: beet, radish??
Looks more like a radish to me, mostly because of the white at the bottom. And look at this neat image I found.

radish. Dunno of any white-tipped beet, and anyway, that little leaf in the lower right is exactly what a radish sprout looks like.

The greens are also wrong for a beet. It's a radish.

I've seen turnips ( small variety) that look very similar. But it does look a lot like a radish.
