Moving to a new city - what iPhone apps will help me get situated?

I'm moving to a mid-sized midwest city that has a decent cultural life. I'd like to be able to jump into life there - what iPhone apps can help me with this? Finding new restaurants, coffee shops, nice little stores, etc... I never paid attention to those sorts of apps before because I know where I live now inside and out. UrbanSpoon is obvious enough.. but what other apps really help you get to know an area and the cool places there.

Best answer: I might suggest the Yelp app just because reviews there are pretty straightfoward - especially with burgeoning cultural highlights, though depending on the city the listings can be a little slim.

Seconding Yelp.
The Platial Map looked promising but I didn't know how to work it...it might have a mobile site.
