Where did YOU go?

Let me count the ways...of answering a question, "where did you go?"

The mundane prompter of this question:
A stranger virtually poked me some months ago on a forum. Sufficiently interested, I reciprocated with a poke in return, but didn't further the conversation when prompted for more. Now I am asked, "where did you go?" Though obvious what is meant by the question, it strikes me how open-ended and unanswerable this question can be made out to be.

Where did I go?

Physically? Psychologically? Emotionally? Philosophically? Metaphorically? Symbolically? Wittily? Ironically? Wise-ass-ly?

How would you answer it? Where did YOU go?

This post was deleted for the following reason: poster's request, but this needs to be a whole lot clearer regardless if there's an answerable question. -- cortex

In the context of this case, "where did you go" = "what did you do instead of continuing our interaction."

Possible answers include, I went offline, I went shopping at Amazon, I updated my blog, I played WoW, etc, etc.

You're right, it is open-ended and unanswerable.
