I'm in love with the song "God and Man" from the Deadwood soundtrack. I need to know what Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee album(s) I require to supplement this feeling.

Some different artists, songs that might work for you:

Taj Mahal
The "Mississippi Delta Blues Jam in Memphis" albums, particularly the R.L. Watson and Johnny Woods tracks and "Columbus, Mississippi Blues" by Bukka White
Mississippi John Hurt is a little slower and quieter, but I recommend him all the same

I have a MJH anthology and another album called "Rediscovered." I think there's overlap, but both are good.

Best answer: "God and Man" originally appeared on this album, which might be a good place to start. It comes from late in their partnership, though, and I think their earlier stuff is much, much better. I suggested this 1958 album in a recent blues thread; it probably fits here, too.

Seconding mediareport's link for the 58 album. Or try this if you're looking for live stuff.

Best answer: if you run out of Terry & McGhee, Cephas And Wiggins will do rather nicely.
