2001 in 70mm

Where can I see 2001: A Space Odyssey in 70mm on the east coast, US?

I drove down from Cleveland last summer to see it in 70mm at the Wexner Center for the Arts at the Ohio State University. You might call and ask about the distributor.

The audience was packed and it felt like a religious experience.

It plays here in Los Angeles once a year or so as part of the annual 70mm series at the American Cinematheque. I would call them up, very friendly folks over there, they might be able to help you.

I know you want it in 70 mm, but the Fox Theatre in Atlanta has it on July 25th in 35mm...

The AFI Silver in Silver Spring, MD, showed this in their glorious old auditorium not too long ago (IIRC). It doesn't appear on their upcoming schedule, but it wouldn't hurt to call them and ask if they are considering it in the near future. They also might be able to suggest other venues.

I've contacted the AFI Silver but haven't heard back. Hopefully they'll do it again, or I can find a showing in NY, Baltimore, Philly, etc.

Update: The AFI Silver in Bethesda just got back to me and said they don't have 2001 scheduled again for the year at the moment.
