Please help me find a contemporary photographer based on a description of his/her work. This artist uses mostly blue tones. The images are 'scenes' that he/she builds and then photographs. They are dream-scapes, and I remember them invoking a sense of loneliness. I want to say they are surrealist, but are probably considered neo-expressionist. Please help me satisfy my urge to look at this lovely work again.

That's a pretty vague description. Jerry Uelsmann could be one of many people sort of fitting that description. Could you perhaps describe one of her/his works in greater detail?

Yeah, sounds like Sandy Skoglund.

Also, The Photo Book is a great reference for finding this or that photographer.

Thanks, but it's not Skoglund. This photographer is more obscure, and if I am remembering correctly works primarily with images that are toned blue.

I remember one image is a barren landscape, akin to a dry field. Sorry so vague, I wish I could remember specific elements. Thanks for the help so far.

I love Crewdson but that doesn't sound like him. Maybe Bill Henson? Someone who works in cyanotypes? Your description is extremely vague.

Again, I am sorry the description is vague. I simply cannot remember any more details. The images were not cyanotypes, but are definitely blue in much the same way. They are staged photos, soft focus, with the subject often being spindly trees, or strange open spaces. I seem to remember the the subject in one flying a kite, but the string was attached to a cloud. Thanks for the help so far!
