What was this movie?

I'm trying to find the title of a movie about a child dying of cancer who's father gives him a wish (More inside)

I'm estimating it was made in around the late 60's - 70's. The father breaks into a zoo to steal two wolves to fulfil the child's wish. The only other other details I recall is that the wolves escape from their cage in a large country house at one stage, and the end of the movie occurs around Christmas.
