Consignment shops in NYC

Can anyone recommend a consignment shop in the NYC area that will take non-designer clothes?

I would like to sell a number of really nice items of clothing (mostly from French Connection and the like) some of which still have the tags on them. Most of the places I've looked into only seem to take the really high end designers. Is this true across the board for consignment shops?

Yeah consignment shops tend to only take high end labels (some wouldn't take my BCBG dresses), but you might find more luck at Beacon's Closet.
They are notoriously picky and only take things in season, though.

You might end up doing better donating to Goodwill or The Salvation Army and taking the tax write-off.

I love Beacon's Closet but if you are lugging 2 giant garbage bags full of clothing from Manhattan, I would say skip it.
