What are some good sites on what's new/hot/recommended in sci-fi? Literature that is, not movies or TV shows. posted by skallas to (5 comments total)
The SFSite. Updated twice a month, the reviews are sometimes not so well written, but generally fairly reliable. Emerald City. Monthly review site written by Cheryl Morgan. She is intelligent, sane and has excellent taste. Sadly rare qualities in the SF world sometimes. If Cheryl recommends something, it almost certainly is worth looking at. The Alien Online. Updates every week or so. Seems to cover graphic novels more than the text kind these days but has the occasional piece by Adam Roberts (excellent reviewer, rotten novelist). posted by thatwhichfalls at 9:52 AM on December 4, 2004
Subscribe to Locus. Though its web site is not insubstantial. posted by mcwetboy at 10:19 AM on December 4, 2004

It won't help you with "new", but Great SF and F is a fantastic (if verbose) site.
I second the Emerald City recommendation. posted by selfnoise at 12:41 PM on December 4, 2004
