Please help my startup company start up!

Stuck trying to install Geant4 on my laptop. I get "Error 2", and warnings that multiple libraries are not in the expected locations (ordinary libraries like stdio.h). Are there any experienced installers out there who can kibbutz with me on this?

I'm not familiar with Geant, but your post is really low on information. If you give us some of the following information, we might manage to get the ball rolling:
  • What system are you trying to install this on?
  • Are you following installation instructions from somewhere?
  • It looks like there's a Configure script in the source code, have you run this with appropriate arguments?
  • Do you have development headers installed ? Many Linux distributions have them in separate pacakges.
  • Have you installed the library mentioned here?
  • What command are you trying to run that gives you error messages?

I'm just here to correct your Yiddish. I think you mean kibitz.

Wait, startup company? Running particle detector simulations? I'm intrigued. But yes, needs more info.

Response by poster: Thanks for the feedback. I'm in the middle of reinstalling the whole package - CLHEP, Geant4, and all - to try to overcome any previous problems, or barring that, document what happened along the way. Of course, then I hit some snags that left my Ubuntu unbootable.

I'm up again now, so I'll try to get this done & report back on details. Thanks.
