Picasa Mac client behavior?

Picasa for Mac: is there a way to limit the Mac client's initial scan of the entire HD for images, and either restrict it to just scanning designated folders or prevent it from scanning excluded/private folders?
When I launch the Picasa Mac client, the first thing it does is scan my HD for ALL images. I'd really like it to just scan my iPhoto folder, as not every photo on my HD is intended to be shared. Ironically, Google is failing me and seems unable to provide an answer to this question.

Best answer: On initial scan, just choose Documents/Desktop/iPhoto/Pictures, then use the Folder manager to add/remove the folders you don't want from your Picasa library. I dont believe theres a way to bypass the initial scan.

Response by poster: Thanks, that does it. And no, there is no way to prevent the initial scan, only to remove those folders after it has occurred.

Does this apply to both platforms?
