Where can I get free web hosting with FTP capability?

Looking for a good, free web hosting service.

Ideally, I'd love to have FTP capability (100 megs or so), but beggars can't be choosers. I have run across a few, namely: free prohosting, 50 megs.com, and maybe even geocities (although I'd like to stay away from that if possible). I own my own domain name, and basically, just want to have a REALLY basic presence on the net. 1-3 pages max.

any suggestions?

Its not free, but as of a week or two ago, Dreamhost.com (a fairly reputable host) was running a special where you could get their $120/year plan for just $10. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, but its a good deal, so I thought I'd pass it on.
What you need to do is go to http://www.dreamhost.com and click on the super saving banner, then click on the 9.95/month prepay 1 year plan. Enter all the info and at the very end when it tells you the price there's a spot to enter a promo code. Enter 777 in that box. Once you use that code, it will update to the cheap price.

try this site. Compares free sites and what they offer.

Response by poster: thanks for the links, they help a lot. has anyone tried aushost.com.uk? is there any significant drawback other than losing some bandwidth to using a host that is several thousand miles away? I don't anticipate having much on my site, so it probably won't be a big deal..

dicaxpuella: Thanks, I'd been looking for a reason to switch to Dreamhost, and you just gave me the excuse I needed.

I used www.fateback.com before I decided to start paying for hosting. It was an adequate service with (as I recall) 60 megs, domain parking, and ftp access. However, it imposed file size limits of 200k and recently began placing ads at the top of the page.
