When Did Illustrator Eric Godal Die?

ArtMuseumResearchFilter: I need to know the year of death for illustrator Eric Godal (born Erich Goldmann). He was born in Germany in 1899 (and it appears he came over to the U.S. after Hitler came to power); I've seen one or two references to his death in 1958, and one in 1969, but nothing definitive.
