Who wrote the donut song?

My Dad used to sing a song about donuts. I've never heard the original, but am keen to find it. Vague recollections of lyrics below.

"Donutssss... I wonder if I can find some nice round donuts, the ones with the hole in the middle. Some like 'em round, some like 'em hot, some like them with sugar on top" ... then something like "slurp slurp slurp."

It's an old-timey jazz song, a version of which is attributed to Everett True here, but I'm sure the original is about 50 years older.

Thanks for your help.
