Please help me, stat!

How can I transfer my free Motigo Webstats icon (and history) from my old MS Frontpage designed website to my shiny new Wordpress one - do I have to modify the theme somehow (and if so, how)? Thanks!

Best answer: You should be able to add a "text widget" to your wordpress sidebar, and paste in your counter code.

According to the motigo FAQ:

Just go to your Account Overview and click on “Webstats” and you will see a list of all your counters. Click then on “Show html code” and you will get to the page with the code of your counter.

Now you want to add the code to a text widget, check here for how to do so.

It should keep your stats as long as you use the same website address - if the address is changing, you might be able to change it in your Account Overview on motigo. I'm not sure as I've never used the service.

The counter will certainly check to make sure it is embedded in the right domain (preventing people from tying to artifically boost the counter by installing it in multiple pages, or forums, for example)

Good luck.
