Modern Outer Limits?

Is there anything like The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone currently in production?

I've been revisiting some Outer Limits on SCI-FI (UK) and wondered is there anything similar currently in production (single 1 hour standalone decent science fiction programs).

AFAIK, the most recent attempt was Masters of Science Fiction on ABC, which did poorly. It is out on DVD if you're interested.

The term for this is a science fiction anthology series. I think smackfu is right about Masters of Science Fiction being the last one, at least in the US.

Masters of Horror... I know it's not sci fi but some of the eps are pretty good.

Masters of Horror is Watch-it-Now on Netflix.

Fringe might tickle your "Situation of the week" funnybone, but it also has some overarching mythology. The situations tend to vary enough week to week that it feels a bit like an anthology. Otherwise, I'm in the same boat as you. I'll have an eye on this thread

Supernatural might be something you'd like, especially the early seasons, which very much did a sort of monster of the week sort of thing. But it might have too much of an story arc for you and the last two seasons have largely deviated from the monster of the week format to focus on the ongoing story.
