Therapist recommendations in Irvine or Los Angeles for a friend trying to extricate herself from an emotionally abusive relationship.

A friend of mine is trying to remove herself from an emotionally abusive relationship, and needs a therapist who can help her build back up her sense of self worth and hopefully eventually leave this loser. Irvine or surrounding area would be ideal, but LA would work if you know of someone fabulous. If they take Blue Cross/Blue Shield, that would be ever better. Thanks, hivemind!

She might be too far for your friend, but Dr. Karen DeFraga is absolutely wonderful, and has a lot of experience with this sort of issue. Also, she takes Blue Cross. Her office is in La Canada, just northwest of Pasadena. 818-790-2550
