"Thank you" in Tahitian?

What would be a nice gift for a family in Teahupo'o, Tahiti? (They'll be hosting my friend for a week; he's flying in from Italy via L.A.)

Can't find much info on what's scarce/appreciated there other than, perhaps, anthologies of local tattoos...
