Where can I buy DAT tapes in Chicago?

Anyone know where I can buy DAT tapes in Chicago on short notice?

I find myself out of media, and I'm doing a recording session this weekend, so there's no time to order online. Apparently nobody uses DAT anymore, but we do for now and it works well for us.

I've tried Guitar Center, Decibel Audio, Promusica, and even Radio Shack.

Someone at Decibel told me he used to buy DAT tapes out of a vending machine at the School of the Art Institute but couldn't say exactly where it was.

Anyone have a source? Thanks.

Best answer: CDW (up in Vernon Hills, unfortunately), Fry's, or maybe MicroCenter?

call recording studios. offer favors. also check a walmart or too (believe it or not, both have worked for me in a pinch in the past)

good luck.

DAT tapes are used for computer backup, too -- try business-oriented computer retailers.

Gand Music and Sound is in Northfield, right off the Edens. They might; it's certainly worth calling to check.

Sometimes I've found them at RiteAid or other large generic drugstores.

Response by poster: Answer for anyone searching later: I found them at MicroCenter on Diversey and Elston.
