How many pages are archived in the google directory?

Catalogue Filter: How many pages are archived in the google directory? Not the pages indexed for the keyword search, but the ones actually cataloged in the google directory.

A friend of mine is doing a talk on classification schemes and information retrieval on the internet. This figure would help him out.

it's not Google's, it's the Open Directory Project, Google just hosts it and you can find it other places. I am downloading the latest dump now and can tell you how many links are in it in a bit.

OK, done. If I understand the encoding right ( I think I do), there are 4,471,968 links in the Open Directory.
