Iphone Imac syncing

Can someone walk me through how to best set up my imac and iphone so that my syncs work more smoothly? I would like to sync just weekly and 1) pull over photos from the phone into iphoto 2) pull over new podcasts that i like and get rid of the old ones (this is my biggest problem right now, it seems like i keep getting the old ones reloaded and sometimes the new ones dont show at all) 3) pull over address changes bi-directionally I would like to do this in as idiot proof a fashion as possible: plug and play thanks!

Re: 3, the best way to sync up would be via GMail's contact sync service. You dont actually have to use GMail, just sync contacts with it.
