Probably stating the obvious, and it depends on what you mean by "free," but Google Image Search is all I've ever needed.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are putting together a brochure, so we can't just steal something via google. But stock exchange will keep our bulldog fed, thanks.

I suppose flickr could work if you contacted the artist.
