Where can I get chillaxing waiting music like the kind featured in this Space Ghost episode? Bonus points if you can tell me exactly what the music in that clip is.

Best answer: The Comments section states it is Tijuana Brass (YouTube Link). Lots of good similar stuff there. You might have better luck finding the exact song by rooting through those videos.

Best answer: I would look into Esquivel.

Some samples for you.

Also, if you're into the space-aged-bachelor-pad-type lounge, I'd check out Combustible Edison, as well.

Combustible Edison samples.

That's the sound of Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, plain and simple. I don't care for the self-consciously retro sounds of the more recent Combustible Edison stuff too much (though it's enjoyable enough), given that Herb Alpert stuff is easy to find. Esquivel's a little different but has a similar vibe.

You definitely want to get a hold of some Herb Alpert. I know for a fact that his tunes have been used on Adult Swim before (see here).

And although I can't speak to the clip in question--and this might be sidetracking a little--you might be interested to know that Herb's song "Rise" was later turned into The Notorious B.I.G.'s song, "Hypnotize".

Try and find some Herb Alpert without the Tijuana Brass. I had an album a few years back, now sadly lost. It was great.

Best answer: There is a Herb Alpert remix album that I think i great. Very chillaxing and not just cheesy mexican restaurant stuff. I'm guessing that is where this is from exactly.

For more suggestions, I would definatley check out the Blue Note Trip series. Especially the Jazzanova ones. But I find them all very chillaxing. You can check out the samples on Amazon.

Blue Note Trip Jazzanova: Lookin' Back/Movin' On
Blue Note Trip Maestro: Somethin' Old/Somethin' Blue

Best answer: You can find some of that kind of "Please stand by" stock music at Ultra Swank, although I don't see any Herb Alpert there.

Response by poster: Thanks, everybody! Everything linked is pretty much what I'm looking to hear once in a while. Keep 'em coming if you've got 'em.
