Sharepoint Sign Up Page for Intranet

Windows Sharepoint 3.0: HR would like to submit a job listing to the intranet that allows employees to sign up. What's the best method to do this? (Signing up would attach your name to the job posting).

I know how to created a form with permission so HR can post a job, I don't know how to create the sign up part. Is there a better way to do this? The free Job Application Template is to complex.

Any help appreciated.

The Job Training Template is simpler and may provide an easy way to set-up your signup sheet.

If that template is too gnarly, why use SPS at all? You could just use a standard mail link and have them send an email to the HR person with the job title in the subject line.

If you just need to know "X person is interested in Z posting" maybe a simple survey would be enough. I don't know how that would scale though.

Response by poster: They want the person to sign up online and not do it through email. Emjay I will take a look at the job Training Template. Thanks!

Best answer: a custom list with simply yes/no checkbox labelled 'Sign me up' or sth similar. Create a new view that shows the 'Created By' field, and filter it on the Checkbox field (Sign me up = True). When HR goes to the list page, they will see who has signed up.

Best answer: a bit more info - you would also need a choice column to indicate which job the person is interested in. the employees who may sign up, would have 2 fields to fill out - which job (choice field), and interested (checkbox)
