Need a contract written - Who can do this cheaply?

I need at least two contracts written.

* One for a person who will become my business partner
* One how to share profits with distributors.

Since I am in the start-up phase my financial resources are very limited. I know that this is an important thing but I can't spend much.

* How can I find someone to write these contracts for a decent amount for me? I guess a law student would do.

* Are the websites that sell templates that I could modify?

Nolo Press may be able to help you draw up your own. Try here. It may or may not be just for CA though.

Go to Office Depot/Office Max, they have form contracts you can buy. Since your focus is price, not quality, might as well buy something off the shelf.

Check with your local law schools. They should have a clinic that could draft up some contracts for you and even form a business entity for you, if needed, for little or no cost.

No one other than a lawyer can legally draw up a contract for you, well except you yourself. The form books are ok because you still actually draft it and they just guide you. However, you would be a fool to start a business using a form out of a book. These sorts of contracts are bread and butter for small legal practices and they won't charge more than a few hundred dollars, which will be tax deductible.

Yoyo, if you're actually in NYC, then I have contacts who could do this for you. MeMail me and I'll provide info for you.

I'm not licensed in NY, otherwise, I'd offer.

A law student is not allowed to do this without supervision by an attorney in the state you are in.

Get the two foundational contracts for your business done right. Get a lawyer, pay a bit more. You'll be glad you did.
