"Tonight" from West Side Story - punk rock cover by ... ?

Back in the eighties, I had a single of "Tonight" from the musical West Side Story. It was an awesome punk rock cover, but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the band. Any ideas?

The band Schlong did a cover album of West Side Story called "Punk Side Story". But it was released in 1995, and I don't think Schlong existed until the early 90s. But I could be wrong about that.

Yeah.... the Schlong one is the one I know, too. I've gotta say -- for what it is, that's a pretty remarkable album.

No, it's not the Schlongs. It's older than that.

Are you sure it isn't The Ramones? They did tons of fun and unexpected covers.

Nope, not The Ramones either. All I remember is that the song started out slowly, kinda like the musical, and by the time the chorus comes around it takes off in full blast. Great stuff.
