Help me identify this painting.

I discovered this painting/print in a friend's house some time ago. The owner does not recall where he purchased it, but I took some cell phone pictures of the painting and of the signature.

I'm trying to find where I can purchase either the exact print, or other things in this style by the same artist.

Deciphering the signature and Googling it, it appears that it could be a work by George B. Luttrell. There are some websites describing him as a New Orleans artist who painted musical scenes.

Oh, and some sites refer to him as "George B. Luttrell II," which would explain the little superscript above the signature you provided.

I'm no art expert, but I did have an art major look at this and here's what we came up with.

- Definitely 1986 and not 1886 or earlier for the date. Considering the subject matter that makes perfect sense.
- The name looks like it says Lutheu or Letteu. She had no idea who this could be.
- The genre postmodern came out.

Not much, but it's something.

Hey Alex!

This site claims to sell prints of Luttrell's works, although their website is pretty incomplete and they don't have very many pieces listed for sale. Might be worth contacting them though.

Oh wait, there's more! Might these prints be what you're looking for?

Ah ha. I kept reading it as "Luthieu," or something like that. Thanks for your help everyone!

Or, should you feel like splurging, there's this $700 framed color original.
