Looking for Professor Twitter
March 5, 2009 6:02 AM
I'm looking for historians and philosophers to follow on Twitter.
I'm looking to get a little more out of my Twitter experience. Can people recommend scholarly types to follow on Twitter? Is there a site somewhere that lists professors who Twitter? Just trying to avoid marketing gurus and the "I had a sandwich for lunch" crowd.

Yeah, a good way to start finding some good Twitterers is to google for Twitter directories or even terms like "historian +Twitter" or "history +Twitter."
You might enjoy following mseumtweets or at least going through her follows to pick and choose some history museums. Many of them have great content.
I find the best people to follow by winnowing through the people I'm following to see who they're following...stepping-stone-style. But it would be nice if people had a few more specific individuals to recommend in this thread.

Jenny Holzer is on Twitter and all she posts are abstract nuggets of philosophy...
