What is the name of this song we used to sing in music class?

I have this song stuck in my head. Its from music class when I was a kid. I used to love this song but I can't remember the name. I've tried to google the first verse but nothing comes up. It starts with...

{beginning}
The hunter sounds his bugle horn
To horse, to horse and then they go

{stuff in the middle}

{ending}
Dashing from yonder tangled thorn
A deer goes marching snow by snow
And louder rings the hunter's horn
March forward, forward
Hello hello

It sounds an awful lot like "The Wild Huntsman" by Sir Walter Scott.

It's a takoff on a Sir Walter Scott epic poem, The Wild Hunstman (pdf).

Response by poster: Wow, that is very similar to the song I remember. Its not exactly the same. But close enough. Thanks!
