Looking for pet hotel in Chicago area - any suggestions?

Sadly, the person that used to watch my cats passed away. I need to travel a few times this year and need to put my 2 cats up. Does anyone know of a good place in or outside of Chicago? Thanks.

I've been using PetSmart for the past few months for my pup...they also board cats. I've been very pleased with what I see there, and the pup is always excited when we park in front of the store, can't wait to get in there....

price is reasonable as well.

You might be able to find a new sitter via the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

Personally, I find it much easier to use a service that comes in. The cats get to stay in their own environment and do their own thing, which is mostly what most cats like to do anyway. Maybe my cats are wimps, but I think that the adjustment to a cat hotel, especially if they were going to be contained most of the time, would be rougher on them. I use Chicago Urban Tails. Prices are very reasonable and they always play with the cats and write awesome notes about what they were doing and the massages they give the cats.

If you want to actually take them to a cat hotel, I would look on Yelp, just remember to adjust appropriately for Yelp "grade deflation."

I know you said you're looking for a place to board your cats, but if you decide to have someone come to your place I recently (this past weekend) had a great experience with Chicago Pet Sitters. The same person stops by daily for about 20 minutes or so to hang with your pets, can pick up your mail, and text you after their visit letting you know how your cats are doing -- I even got a photo text of my kitty on one of the days they stopped by. I had always had family feed my pets so I was hesitant to have a stranger stop by, but the experience was very positive and I would definitely use them again.

When we lived in the Chicago area (over 12 years ago), we boarded our dog at the American Pet Motel in Prarie View/Lincolnshire. It appears that they were bought out a few years back and are now called Best Friends Pet Care. They have three locations in the area, but they only appear to board cats in Prarie View. From when we boarded our pooch there, I can say there wasn't a cleaner, more pet-friendly place.

You might want to ask your vet if he/she has heard of them.
