Add an iPhone line

Will AT&T let you add an iPhone to a FamilyTalk plan, where the main phone is not an iPhone?

I have read conflicting reports on it. I KNOW I would need to agree to a 2 year contract, and I KNOW I would need to pay at least the $30 a month for the data plan. I want to know if the additional plan can just be the the $9.99 additional line + $30 data plan. The AT&T site doesn't seem to speak about this. Let me know if you have been successful doing this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Additionally, has anyone had success in getting corporate discounts applied to the line? The discount some companies have for their employees for personal cell phones.

Best answer: Yeah I have a corporate discount applied to my iPhone line. Saves around $7 each month.

They did at least with the 2.5g iPhone. Thats how mine is. I pay data plus additional line for my iPhone.

Best answer: Yep - I have that plan now - only additional charge is $30 a month, the main phone + the other 2 phones are the plan are not iphones/dont have data.

We have it with a non-iPhone on the main account plus an original flavor ($9.99/line + $20 data) and an iPhone 3G ($9.99/line + $30 data) on a FamilyTalk plan.

My iPhone was added to my family's Family plan this way. I have a gen. one iPhone though, so it's just 20 extra bucks a month over my previous non-iPhone phone.

Response by poster: I went and got one. They allowed in on the partner line and only the 30 dollar data plan applied. Also, they let me have my corporate discount.
