I'm interested in non-US alternatives to tech news sites and search engines.

I'm looking for non-US alternatives to a range of popular websites. Real, developed and hosted somewhere else type sites, not just a regional re-branding on the same US server.

I'm mostly after tech news sites, but also a search engine would be nice. Does anyone have a pointer to any indexes of websites that display lists based on country? Preferably in English. Feel free to just dump your bookmark list if you've got a nice collection.

Dan's Data has good tech reviews and such, and he's in Australia.
