what kind of guitar is this

anyone know what this guitar is?

I saw it on Craigslist, I'd like to know a little more about it before I give the guy an offer, I'm thinking it might be a Harmony but I really have no idea, looks cool though.

It's just a cheap generic guitar that's worth about $40. Either the seller doesn't know that or is trying to pass it off as some mysterious rarity. You could get a knockoff electric guitar at Wal-Mart that would be better than this.

I don't know what kind it is, but I only see one pickup. You could get a used Stratocaster for not much more.

I dunno, it looks like a guitar from the late 60s or 70s to me. Maybe a Teisco or something. I doubt it's valuable, but it might be worth $150 depending on condition.

Nice pickguard, way too weird for a "cheap generic guitar" from the last 20 years or so. Reminds me of a Danelectro, maybe it's a Japanese knock-off of one of those.

Looks like a Fender Mustang knock-off.

Thanks for the advice but I'm not too interested in where to find "better" deals I just want some info on this exact guitar, seeing if it's worth adding to the collection. I've never really seen this shape before, reminds me kinda of the old Harmony Bobkats in the 60's and I'm thinking this thing is also from the 60's, if anyone thinks they know what it might be that'd help a lot.

Looks to me like a just-different-enough-to-avoid-a-lawsuit knockoff of a Danelectro Dano, although I have no idea who actually made it. There are Danelectro fan forums, though; the top Google hit is this one. If it were me, I would take it there.

I don't know for sure but the Teisco company made a lot of different guitars under a lot of different names for a lot of different people. They also used a name badge on the head stock of some of the guitars. These can fall off over the years leaving it nameless....

Can you get a picture of the head stock? That'd help me ID it.
