Movies based in retirement homes?

I'm looking for fictional movies based primarily in rest homes.

Documentaries don't count, so please don't say "Young @ Heart."

The "Kick the Can" segment of the Twilight Zone movie.

"Cocoon".

IMDB search for "retirement home" (lots of hits there)
IMDB search for "rest home" (not so many there)

Might give you a few leads anyway.

Hah, Bubba Ho-tep right out of the gate... it's a strange, strange movie.

Oh, and a lot of Fried Green Tomatoes takes place at a rest home.

A bunch of In Her Shoes takes place in Shirley MacLaine's Florida retirement community.

The Singing Detective, the great BBC series, is partly set in a nursing home where Marlowe is suffering from an outbreak of psoriasis. The rest is set in his imagination.

A good portion of The Savages takes place in a rest home.

Parts of "Away from Her" are set in a retirement home.

Not the whole movie, but a decent section toward the end of Jesus' Son.

Hate to admit that I've seen it, but "The Notebook" partially takes place in a rest home. Prepare to be blown away by sap.

Seconding "Away From Her" (and thirding "Bubba Ho-Tep.") You might find a few more here.

Nthing Bubba Ho-Tep. That was my first thought, too.

How About You is an Irish film set in a nursing home that sounds interesting, though I've not seen it.

Make Way for Tomorrow doesn't take place in a rest home, but its main characters are haunted by them throughout. It's a devastating film.

Say Anything has a retirement home as a major plot point, although mostly it doesn't take place there.

Cocoon.

It's a hospital, not a nursing home. And yeah, Cocoon is the ne plus ultra of retirement home movies.

Say Anything. Not the main story, but Diane's dad does go to jail for ripping off the residents of the retirement home he runs.

TV, but the X-Files episode Excelsius Dei. Depends on your tolerance for crotchety spirits and stereotypical Asian herbal mysticism. It's pretty funny.

A lot of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" occurs in a retirement home, and it is certainly important to the plot.

If it doesn't have to be a movie, The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry is a recent book (short-listed for the Booker prize, winner of the Costa Prize) set in a retirement home.

It comes highly recommended (though I haven't read it yet myself).

The Wendell Baker Story features Owen Wilson as a corrupt retirement home manager. My grandmother was filmed as an extra but somehow she didn't make it to the final cut.

I know you said movies, but other people have posted TV series and such. There's a British series called Waiting For God set in a retirement home. It's not the best show I've ever watched, but it's pretty funny.
