I really love reading blogs written by wealthy people. Do you have any to recommend?

This is a sort of silly and super-specific question, but here goes: I love to read blogs written by wealthy people (maybe for the same reason I like to read PG Wodehouse?). It's not all that easy to find them via google, and the link sections on the few rich-people blogs I'm currently reading have proved surprisingly fruitless.

Old money and new money are both fine; families with kids, single people; whatever. Bonus points if the bloggers have an actual household staff.

Mark Cuban, new money

Mark Cuban and Mark Shuttleworth come to mind, but the blogs are focused on sports and technology, respectively. They don't sound like exactly what you're looking for.

Best answer: Gotham Gal. She doesn't make a big deal out of it, but you catch on pretty quickly that she has big money.

Response by poster: If you're on the fence about suggesting a blog because you think they might not be rich enough for my criteria, go ahead and suggest. The more the merrier!

Philip Greenspun

I really enjoy reading Phil Greenspun's blog. He has a very specific, wry, sometimes offensive sense of humour. He's also the only rich guy I know who writes about his experience of being rich. His essay about early retirement is particularly good reading.

Gotham Gal is actually the wife of the person who's blog I was about to link too Fred Wilson, a venture capitalist who invests in dumbass web2.0 stuff.

There are a lot of bloggers out there who are rich and block about their industry or whatever, like Fried Wilson, as opposed to blogging about what it's like to be super-rich.

Its not a personal blog but Luxist is about slavering over things that obscenely wealthy people buy; same sugar rush

Kanye West has a crazy blog, but you'd better like ALL CAPS.

Adam Curry's podcast (Yes, that Adam Curry). It's not a blog but, sometimes I wouldn't mind having some of his problems.

How about Ree Drummond a.k.a. "The Pioneer Woman?" From what I understand, her husband's family has been ranching for generations, and they seem to be worth a pretty penny. I'd love to have (either of) her house(s), though.

Melissa Morris - New York City socialite.

Response by poster: Gotham Gal is great, thanks.

Melissa Morris is one that I already read but she's exactly along the lines of what I'm looking for.

Best answer: Gwyneth Paltrow has a lifestyle blog called GOOP. When she wants to lose weight she can hire a trainer who tours with Madonna, when she needs a doctor, she has ones in three different cities.

I don't think he is as rich as he is famous, but David Byrne's blog (of Talking Heads fame) can be very interesting.

Marc Andreessen, Netscape founder and internet entrepreneur, has a very interesting blog, but it has been idle for quite a while.

Best answer: Dating a Banker Anonymous and Essentially Emily, if Emily Brill puts the archives back up. Also try a google for "socialite blogs" - a few come up but I can't personally endorse any of them.

GOOP is just hysterical.

Jamie Zawinski was at Netscape through their golden years, got rich, cashed up, and bought a nightclub.

I like Open Choke, a blog by a guy in the Oil and Gas industry, and 2-Speed, a "retired" CEO who is now a bit of a VC and mentor.

The Society & Style Blog at Vanity Fair.

I remember this column being mentioned in an NPR feature a few months back: The Unbearable Dullness of Luxury Goods by Jamie Johnson. Basically a uber-rich white guy complaining to anyone who'll listen. I'd imagine there is more of the same there if you can stomach it.

Carrie Fisher has started blogging, and I can only imagine she's wealthy enough for your tastes. Her post about a party for which the guestlist included both Mick Jagger and Paris Hilton surely suggests as much.
