Uses for old t-shirts? October 29, 2004 9:40 AMSubscribe
I've got several cool old t-shirts that are too small for me now, but that I'd like to use for something. So far the only idea I could come up with was pillows. Any suggestions? posted by drezdn to clothing, beauty, & fashion (11 answers total) 1 user marked this as a favorite
Try craftster.org, they retool t-shirts all the time. posted by agregoli at 9:51 AM on October 29, 2004
There's a great set of instructions for a duvet cover made of old tshirts in the latest Budget Living. I'm actually going to make one myself. posted by sugarfish at 10:00 AM on October 29, 2004
Shane asked this q a few months ago (his was about tshirts that you didn't wear anymore but didn't want to throw out) - search that thread for some great answers. posted by iconomy at 10:29 AM on October 29, 2004
How about a quilt? My wife has taken up quilting over the past several years, and recycles all kinds of fabrics into her creations. posted by kickerofelves at 12:50 PM on October 29, 2004
Sell them to a thrift store and before long lots of horn-rimmed hipsters will be wearing them all over town. posted by xmutex at 2:09 PM on October 29, 2004
You could make a cool wall-hanging. Sew each T-shirt to a square or rectangle, but before sewing the T-shirt all the way down, stuff it a little with cotton batting to give it a 3D look. Then sew the squares together, perhaps with a lattice work of contrasting strips. Finish with two or three different fabrics to frame the entire piece. posted by Secret Life of Gravy at 5:19 PM on October 29, 2004
