What song was this?

Looking for the title/artist of a conspiratorial hip-hop track from the mid-90s.

I had a collection of mid-90s hip hop b-sides a while back, and it contained one cut that was all about wild conspiracy business - the Illuminati, the Bilderberg Group, water flouridation, alien invasion, the whole nine. The music was kind of a playful yet ominous loop, I think it was string instruments or something like. It definitely wasn't Immortal Technique, altho I know he gets pretty conspiratorial at times. I believe there were three or four different lyricists throughout the song. Anyone have any ideas? I'd most likely recognize the artist/song name if I saw it, but for the life of me I cannot remember.

Blood of Abraham? Killah Priest?

Do you remember anything about this compilation--title, label, other artists that appeared on it, anything like that? Was it literally a b-sides comp?

I believe that you are talking about Presage's album, The Outer Perimeter.

I LOVE that album.

Actually, on second thought, that probably isn't it. I missed the "several lyricists" on one track part - this album is mostly samples with only one track having a lyricist, being a sort of spoken-word head trip. Everything else matches your description exactly, though!

Unfortunately the collection itself won't help much - it wasn't an official release, but a big lump of digital rips from vinyl cuts and 12"s, so some of it might not even be on CD. It had lots of J-Zone and Blackmoon and such, stuff from Hexstatic, all over the place.

Do you remember any phrases from the lyrics, or samples or anything? If so, sites like ohhla.com and the-breaks.com might be helpful.

Found it - it was J-Zone after all, I could just never track down the cut - "Candy Razors". Nice!
