Good Eats in Manchester NH?

Seeing a good place for a large-ish group (a dozen or so adults) to eat in Manchester, NH within winter walking distance of the Radisson/NH Expo Center (700 Elm St).

The Merrimack (where we have normally gone) has closed and I don't want to be stuck going to Margaritas. We're a boisterous group of about 6-7 couples, plus a few kids. Not big drinkers. Good food and plenty of it is a must. Diners are fine. Would prefer something that is not a national chain.

What is winter walking distance? There's JW Hill's right near the park, but better stuff further down Elm. How far you willing to walk? Gauchos is pretty sweet if y'all are big meat-eaters, but it's a bit further and a bit pricier.

In addition to how far you want to walk, what's your price range like?

How far you willing to walk?

Well, that depends on how cold it is. :-)

Probably within a 10-15 minute walk, so lets say around a 1 mile radius. Gauchos looks pretty good, actually - we have one in Portland but I hadn't realized there was one in Manchester as well.

Best would be a place with a good range of prices: some $10 items; some $25 items.

Is this for Lunch or Dinner prices? My parents dig Cotton, but if I'm in the millyard area, I usually suggest Commercial St. Fishery, which is like a half-mile away from the Radisson, and has some surprisingly lovely seafood considering you can't see any nearby ocean. I think both of those could conceivably be in your price range? Check out the menus, though -- the basic menu items are online. Commercial St. Fishery is a pretty big place, so you could probably get a couple of the big tables in the middle to be put together if you call ahead. Anyway, check out the online menu and see what you think.

Also, if you're just chilling in the hotel and want some pizza, I wholeheartedly recommend ordering in from Alley Cat Pizza -- their "Aztec Cat" pizza (buffalo chicken and blue cheese) is one of my all-time favorite pizzas anywhere.

I know you said you're not big drinkers, but if anyone in your party is a big beer guy/gal, they should check out Strange Brew, which has a killer beer selection. It's got great bar food, too, and a little restaurant section. But it's a bar first and foremost, so maybe not the best place for the kids.

Walkable? I'd go to the WB - across from the Verizon Wireless Arena.
