I think you should just check CNN or MSNBC websites, they surely will have a webfeed. You can also install livestation. posted by zouhair at 4:31 AM on January 19
Ill be in Kyoto and was wondering the same thing unbelievably. meetup.com had some leads for 'democrats abroad' or something.
Good luck! posted by kaydo at 5:10 AM on January 19

The great place in Osaka to watch historic events is Big Man, which is the name of the giant LCD TV in front of Kinokuniya Books in Hankyu Umeda Station. TV stations always send news crews there to get the reaction shots on big events. However, since the inauguration won't be until 2 a.m. Wednesday local time (12 noon in Washington, unless I calculate wrong), you would have to look for someplace indoors. Hotel with CNN is your best bet, or you can call and ask if any of the late nite pubs will show it. They probably will if you're buying. I'm considering going to that meetup in Gion, maybe even doing a little documentary, because it's 5 minutes walk from my mother-in-law's place and I can crash there. The Google Map on the meetup.com page is totally the wrong part of town, don't look at that. Gael (formerly Tadg's) is near Hankyu Kawaramachi Station or Keihan Gion-Shijo. If you go, call me at the number I'm going to mefi mail you and it will count as a Metafilter meetup. posted by planetkyoto at 5:49 AM on January 19
