Can Canadians snag 3D glasses for the 3D Chuck episode?

Chuck is doing this big 3-D post-Superbowl extravaganza thing, which sounds awesome. However, I am unable to find out if the glasses will be available in Canada. Down in the US, they seem to be distributed as part of some ad campaign for Monsters vs. Aliens, but the same campaign is not being run up north.

So, does anyone know if the glasses will be available to us hosers? And if not, where can I snag a few pairs of cheapo compatible 3d glasses so I can experience the cheese?

Are you sure the Canadian broadcast is in 3D? This Sun article says the whole promotion is not being run in Canada since the Superbowl and Chuck are on different networks. So I'm not sure the episode will even be in 3D since there's no commercial incentive to distribute the glasses (no movie or Sobe drink tie in.) Have you seen it promoted as being in 3D for Citytv viewers? Or do you have a broadcast NBC signal?

There is a 1-800 number to obtain glasses though.

Response by poster: I have a satellite dish (Starchoice) and get the US NBC feed, which I assume will be in 3D even if the Canadian carrier isn't. Last year we got all the American Super Bowl commercials, which standard Canadian cable doesn't (they get the same 5 crappy commercials, over and over and over and over).

If the 1-800 number doesn't work, and assuming that 3D glasses are approximately the same for everything, go to a video store and rent a 3D movie (Shark Boy and Lava Girl is the most recent I can think of). It should come with glasses.

Best answer: Apparently the Chuck broadcast will be using a different "ColorCode" Anaglyph 3D system and not the typical red-blue. The glasses you need are amber and blue. You can search Google for "ColorCode glasses" and find some buying options.

The Shark Boy and Lava Girl glasses are red-blue. In Journey to the Center of the Earth, they decided to go with green-magenta, so you have to be careful when buying your glasses.
