Where can I find a small laptop sleeve?

Help me find a sleeve for a netbook.

My boyfriend just bought this netbook and is looking for a sleeve for it. Requirements:

Black or dark blue
Slightly but not heavily padded
Hopefully buyable in person as opposed to online (zip code 70118)
Not significantly larger than the external dimensions of the case (9.8x6.7x1.1)
Zipper closure
Not extravagantly expensive (under $30 is best)

It will be transported under a net on the back of a motorcycle, if that furthers any recommendations.

Thanks for the help, green!

You should check Target. They now carry a variety of netbook sleeves; I picked up one for my similarly sized Sylvania G Meso for $13 there just after Christmas, though the color selection, at the time, was limited to light blue or purple (I think normally they carry black, too).

If WaterField makes sleeves for the size, definitely go with them. Supreme craftsmanship. You have to purchase it online, however. But they're built to fit.

(Just noticed: Yes, WaterField makes a sleeve for the Acer One (size 20-13). $38 without a flap.)

Response by poster: Thanks, nitsuj, but it doesn't look like those have zippers, and a zipper is possibly the most important one of these specs.

I'll check that out, PhoBWan, but keep em coming!

There's another option to consider, netbooks tend to fit into the CamelBak-type sleeve of backpacks quite nicely, or at least mine does in the two packs I have with sleeves for the water bladder purpose. Having a few years riding experience, I'd trust a small backpack for a netbook/laptop over the mesh net I used for larger items.

I have that computer and I bought a cover meant for transporting a portable DVD player. It cost $10 at Walmart and fits perfectly. Just another option of where to look.

I have the same netbook and I just got a zippered neoprene sleeve for it. Perfect fit. It's made by Init.

$22.49 from Best Buy

Even if you find a sleeve locally, you can't go wrong with a backup for $4 (shipped) from DealExtreme. (Link goes to a zippered model, but there are a number of other netbook sleeves there.)

Another style at Amazon for $20.

And I bought a netbook for the sole reason that it its form factor fits easily in my saddlebags :)

Best answer: Amazon has these Kroo ones--if you buy one, tell us whether it's nice. And there's the Waterfield sleeve, which many folks on forums seem to like a lot.

Response by poster: We actually went ahead and bought the grey/black Kroo one on Amazon, after realizing that no local stores had anything resembling what we were looking for. It's great! The laptop fits fairly snugly inside, with room for the power adapter in the same pocket or in the separate zippered pocket to keep it from scratching.
