What is the best mid-level hotel to stay at in St. Louis? Uniqueness and/or swimming pool preferred if possible.

Well, there's always the Cheshire. A little shabby these days, I've heard, but unique as all get-out. Once you get in the parking lot, you have to drive on the left side of the road. Convenient to Forest Park/Washington University.

Bonus: The Cheshire has a bar called Fox and Hounds. It's like drinking in a library. Ask the bartender for the quiz.
