I've seen various variety stores on St. Clair West (around Dufferin) advertising them, but I doubt they're the only ones. If you don't get an exact pointer from this thread, just try some corner stores in your neighbourhood. posted by maudlin at 8:16 PM on January 2
Most of the dollar stores seem to have them. I always used to get mine at the place on Yonge (East side) just north of King -- I think it's between Sleep Country Canada and a Staples. posted by ricochet biscuit at 8:56 PM on January 2
Convenience store outside Dupont station. posted by avocet at 8:59 PM on January 2
I got one from the little convenience store / stand in Dundas station when you enter to go south from the Eaton's Center. posted by GleepGlop at 10:34 PM on January 2
Isn't there a little TTC merch shop in Union station? I think I heard they had them there, but I can't confirm it myself. posted by yellowbinder at 12:03 AM on January 3
The dollar store outside Bathurst Station has the blue slidey ones. But, hark, Torontonians- I found something way better- a plastic keychain designed to hold pills that I got at Shopper's Drug Mart for like $4. It lives on my keychain, holds $40 worth of tokens, is easy to open, and it's fast to fill it. I like it better than any other token holder I've ever had, and believe me, I've tried every permutation of those things (slidey ones, spring-loaded ones, little pouches, loose in my wallet, stuck on strips of tape in my wallet, carrying entire rolls, etc etc etc). posted by pseudostrabismus at 12:34 AM on January 3
Thanks. Yonge/King is really close to my office and I think I know the store you're talking about. posted by chuma at 5:04 AM on January 3
I've bought them from the newsstand inside Bloor Station (by the northbound Yonge Street platform) before. posted by ltdan at 11:49 AM on January 3
