Any recipe ideas for Harry and David Maverick pears?

I've got five leftover from a case I got for Christmas. They're all ripe now so I want to use them before they go bad. I'm looking for recipes that are tailored towards this kind of pear as they are much juicier and softer than normal food-store pears.

Anyone make any dishes with these pears before?

Thanks in advance =)

The recipe "Laurie's Pear Tart" on the comment thread here sounds like it would be good and probably pretty easy, too. And this Easy Pear Crisp recipe has some good reviews.

And there are a few drool-worthy recipes on this site dedicated to pears.

My sister made us a walnut and pear salad using some Harry and David pears last week. It had arugula, walnuts, sliced pears, and grated parmesan with some kind of vinaigrette--simple but tasty.

Funny. I saw the question, did a search for this menu item:

Insalata Di Spinaci Spinach Salad with Gorgonzola Cheese, Walnuts and Poached Pear. Served with Raspberry Vinegrette

...then I saw Jemstar's answer.

So this is a great combination, the greens and pears, but offhand I can't describe the process of poaching a pear. It was deep red, purple in color. It had the appearance and texture of a beet, but was definitely the flavor of pear.

I can vouch for this recipe, although you can skip the honey & nuts and just use ice cream instead of marscapone. It specifies Bartlett pears, but I suppose any pear will do.
