How might one capture an embedded flash movie and convert it to quicktime, in OS X?

You could try using an app like SnapzX or whatever it is called, which does little movies.

Or if you have access to the original .fla file, it's easy to do a quicktime export directly within the flash author environment.

It's SnapsPro X 2 and it's awesome. I think you'll need the $70 version, I'm not sure if the $30 version does quicktime movies.

Also, the quicktime export from Flash is mediocre at best. It doesn't handle coded movement or movieclips placed within other movieclips.
